Ipswich 2001-02 Home Shirt (S)

Authentic and original Ipswich Town home shirt, as used during the 2001-02 season, during which the Tractor Boys would finish in 18 in the Premiership, being relegated under the management of George Burley.

This season's Premier League new boys would suffer a costly relegation having just finished in 5th the season before! Perhaps the weight of competition in the UEFA Cup alongside all domestic competitions was too much for a side that had been in the Premiership for just one season prior to this. The side won just once during their opening 18 league games, and although a decent run of form at the beginning of the new year saw them climb to relative safety, they would hit yet another slump, this time one they couldn't get out of, and would ultimately suffer relegation. What is incredible, is that despite being relegated, Ipswich would still qualify for the 2002-03 edition of the UEFA Cup, courtesy of the UEFA fair play award!

In the 2001-02 UEFA Cup, the side would reach the third round, defeating the likes of Torpedo Moscow and Helsingborg in the first 2 rounds, before facing Inter Milan in round 3. They would actually win the first leg at home, by a score of 1 goal to nil, before being blown away 4-1 at the San Siro, ultimately losing 4-2 on aggregate.

Overall, shirt is in excellent condition overall. Size small, but could probably squeeze a medium too. Measurements included in pictures.
