Portugal 1999-00 Home Shirt (Figo) (L)

Authentic and original Portugal home shirt, as used during the 1999-00 season, during which the Portuguese would compete in the qualification process for the Euro 2000 tournament. Shirt is complete with nameset of Portuguese legend, Luis Figo.

Finishing 2nd in their qualifying group, Portugal would automatically qualify for Euro 2000, finishing 1 point behind unbeaten group winners Romania in qualifying. Their group stage campaign saw them top their group - this time ahead of Romania, with both England and Germany exiting at the group stages!

They defeated England 3-2, before a 1-0 win over Romania, and made it 3 wins from 3, following a 3-0 thumping of the Germans. Figo scored once during the group stage, this being the first goal in the 3-2 victory over England. In the quarter finals, they would play Turkey, beating them 2-0, before a golden goal defeat to France, losing 2-1 courtesy of the golden goal from Zinedine Zidane!

As for Figo, he would make 127 appearances for the national team, over 15 years, scoring 32 goals, whilst also making close to 600 competitive league appearances, in a stellar career that saw him play for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Sporting, and finishing at Inter Milan.

Overall, shirt is in excellent condition. Couple minor signs of wear, but nothing too bad. Material feels excellent. Little residue from what looks to have once been a previous nameset, but it honestly is barely even noticeable. Non issue really. Size Large, with measurements provided in pictures.
