Turkey 2008-10 Home Shirt (L)

Authentic and original Turkey home shirt, as used during the European Championship campaign of 2008, during which Turkey would record their best ever finish in the tournament, reaching the semi finals!

A remarkable achievement for the Turkish began in the group stages, where they would progress in second place, finishing level on points with group winners Portugal, just with a lesser goal differential (0 vs +2). They finished 3 points clear of Czech Republic and Switzerland, who were both eliminated on 3 points. Turkey's only defeat in the group stage came in gw1, in the form of a 2-0 defeat to group winners Portugal, before they would defeat Switzerland in the second game, then came back from 2-0 behind against the Czech Republic to secure a 3-2 victory.

Then came the knockout rounds, which saw an impressive win over Croatia firstly - with the tie finishing 1-1 after extra time (both goals coming after the 119th minute), and Turkey eventually progressing via a penalty shootout, winning 3-1 on spot kicks. Their toughest test would then come in the Semi Finals, against European heavyweights Germany. Despite taking a 1-0 lead, Turkey would find themselves 2-1 down with just 10 minutes to go, before an equaliser 4 minutes from time looked to have earned Turkey an extra 30 minutes. That was until Philip Lahm struck in the 90th, to secure a 3-2 win for the Germans, who would go on to lose to Spain in the final.
