Barnsley 2003-04 Home Shirt (2XL)

Authentic and original Barnsley home shirt, as used during the 2003-04 season, during which the Yorkshire side finished in 12th in the 2nd division, (now more commonly known as League 1) under the guidance of Paul Hart.

A side that now play their football in the 3rd tier of English football (although have been in the 2nd tier as recently as 2022), Barnsley have actually played more second tier games of English football than any other team! This season saw them attempt to return to the now rebranded 'First Division', although they were massively unsuccessful in their pursuit, having to settle for a mid table finish instead. It wouldn't be until the end of the 2006-07 season when Barnsley would next taste promotion, having won the play off final!

In domestic cup competition, the side competed in the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the League Trophy - perhaps more commonly known as the EFL Trophy these days. They reached the 3rd round of the FA Cup, being knocked out in a replay by Scunthorpe United, whilst reaching the first round of the League Cup, where Blackpool defeated them 2-1. They went one better in the Football League trophy, reaching round 2, before a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Overall, shirt remains in good condition. Few signs of wear including a fair bit of bobbling to the front, and the odd pull here and there. Size 2xl, with measurements provided in pictures.
