Bury 1999-00 Home Shirt (S/M)

Authentic and original Bury home shirt, as used during the 1999-00 season, during which Bury would compete in the second division - the third tier of English football, following relegation from the second tier the season prior.

The weight of relegation played heavily on the minds of Bury this season, with poor league form, combined with the departure of a certain Neil Warnock to Sheffield United meaning they could only muster up a 15th place finish this season. Warnock resigned as manager on the second of December, and would go on to have a pretty successful 8 year spell with the Blades, leading them to 2 Cup semi finals, as well as promotion to the Premiership.

Back to Bury however, they would place Steve Redmond and Andy Preece as joint caretaker managers for the rest of the season, with the latter actually being player / manager, and finishing as Bury's top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions! The side also didn't fare that well in any of the domestic cup competitions, getting furthest in the FA Cup, where they were knocked out in a replay in round 2, by Welsh side Cardiff City. They were knocked out in the first rounds of both the League Cup (losing to Notts County), and the Football League Trophy (losing to Mansfield).

Overall, shirt is in good condition. Front is fantastic, the lower back has a couple tiny snags, not overly noticeable. Size small, but could also do a medium. Measurements provided in pictures.
