Celtic 2009-10 European Away Shirt (McDonald) (M)

Authentic and original Celtic away shirt, as used in European competition during the 2009-10 season, during which the side would compete in the UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League, under the guidance of Tony Mowbray, and then Neil Lennon. Shirt is complete with nameset of attacking midfielder / striker, Scott McDonald.

A bit of a turbulent season for Celtic in all, they would relieve Tony Mowbray of his duties in March 2010, following a horrendous 4-0 defeat to St Mirren which had left the side 10 points adrift of runaway leaders Rangers. Neil Lennon would come in as interim, and would be given the job permanently following the conclusion of the season. Celtic would win all of their league games with Lennon in charge, but couldn't catch Rangers, who finished top of the division, 6 points clear of their Glasgow rivals.

As for McDonald, he would make 29 appearances this season, scoring 14 goals, of which 10 came in the Premiership, before leaving the club on transfer deadline day of the January transfer window, signing for Middlesbrough in a deal worth up to £3.5 million! In total, he made 88 league appearances for Celtic, scoring 51 times.

Celtic would play in both the UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League this season, getting knocked out in the play off round of the UCL, by English side Arsenal, losing 5-1 on aggregate. In the Europa League, they would be eliminated in the group stages, finishing 3rd in their group, with just 1 win from their 6 games!

Overall, shirt is in very good condition. Nameset has a wee touch of cracking, and there might be the tiniest signs of wear, but nothing major. Carling sponsor remains exceptional, which is a rarity for these shirts. Size medium, with measurements provided in pictures.
