England 2003-03 Home Shirt (S)

Authentic and original England home shirt, as used during the European Championship campaign of 2004, during which the English would reach the quarter finals of the competition, before defeat to Portugal, on penalties.

The English finished second in their group stage campaign, behind France, but above Croatia and Switzerland, in what was certainly a difficult group. Their tournament actually began with a defeat to the group winners, having been ahead until the 90th minute, until Zinedine Zidane struck twice in 2 minutes to complete the turnaround, and give France a 2-1 victory. They recovered well however, defeating Switzerland 3-0 in their second match, courtesy of goals from Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard, before an entertaining 4-2 victory over Croatia in their final match, with Rooney scoring another brace.

They would then be given a tie against Portugal in the first knockout round, where they would take the lead within 3 minutes, courtesy of a Michael Owen goal. However, it was the same old story for England, as they failed to increase their advantage, and ultimately allowed Portugal back into it just 7 minutes from time, taking the game to extra time. Rui Costa gave Portugal a 2-1 lead in the additional period, but Frank Lampard equalised just 5 minutes from time, to take the tie to penalties. David Beckham, and Darius Vassell would both miss from the spot, leading to a 6-5 defeat for the English on penalties.

Overall, shirt is in very good condition, no real issues to note. Size small, with measurements provided in pictures.
