Authentic and original Liverpool away shirt, as used during the 1998-99 season, during which the side would finish in 7th in the Premiership, finishing the season under the guidance of Gérard Houlier.
The Frenchman was actually joint manager for a portion of this season, alongside Roy Evans, but Evans seemed to not enjoy the partnership, resigning from his post in November, leaving Houlier in sole charge. The side topped the table after 4 games, but slowly would slip away following a few poor results heading into September, with defeats at Old Trafford and Upton Park. Their form worsened heading into the Christmas period and they found themselves as low as 12th by the 13th of December! They managed to get themselves back to form slightly, ending the season in seventh.
In domestic competition, they would suffer defeats in the early rounds of both the FA Cup, and League Cup, losing to Manchester United in the fourth round of the former, and Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the latter. The UEFA Cup saw them reach the third round, before elimination at the hands of Celta Vigo, losing 4-1 on aggregate.
Overall, shirt is in very good condition. Bit of cracking to the Carlsberg sponsor as seen, and the tiniest bit of faint marking to the lower front. No pulls, holes, or bobbles however. Size Large, but will also do an XL comfortably. Measurements provided in pictures.
