RC Lens 1996-97 Home Shirt (S)

Authentic and original RC Lens home shirt, as used during the 1996-97 season, where the French side would finish 13th in the French first division, under the guidance of Slavoljub Muslin.

The side sat firmly in mid table this season, amassing 45 points across their 38 league games, as well as competing in 3 cup competitions, these being the Coupe de France, Coupe de La Ligue, and the UEFA Cup. They would see the most success in the Coupe de La Ligue, reaching the quarter finals of the tournament, before defeat to AS Monaco, losing 1-0 at home. They were knocked out on penalties in the Coupe De France by Auxerre, and they wouldn't get further than the 1st round of the UEFA Cup, losing to Lazio across 2 legs.

Players to play for Lens this season included the likes of Marc-Vivien Foe, Vladimir Smicer, and French midfielder, Phillipe Brunel.

Overall, shirt remains in very good condition. Some damage to the Umbro sponsor in the middle, but not too major really. Size tagged as an XL Boys, however this will more than comfortably fit a size small, with measurements provided in pictures.
