In Europe, the side would top their UEFA Champions League group, finishing level with 2nd placed Olympiakos on 11 points, before losing 4-2 to Italian side Roma over 2 legs, crashing out in the first knockout round. Players to play for Real this season included the likes of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, and Robinho, who would score 11 La Liga goals this season.
