Authentic and original Stuttgart away shirt, as used during the 2007-08 season, during which the German side finished in 6th in the Bundesliga, under the guidance of German coach Armin Veh. Shirt is complete with nameset of former midfielder, Thomas Hitzlsperger.
Having won the Bundesliga the season prior, it was always going to be a tough ask for the side to replicate this achievement, although a 6 placed finish was pretty disappointing, all things considered. They finished with a goal difference of bang on 0, having both scored and conceded 57 goals across 34 games in the campaign, with notable results include a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, a 4-1 win over Frankfurt, and an entertaining 6-3 win over Werder Bremen.
Outwith the league, the side also competed in the UEFA Champions League, and the DFB Pokal, going out in the group stages of the former (finishing bottom of their group), whilst reaching the quarter finals of the DFB Pokal, before being knocked out on penalties by second division side Carl Zeiss Jenna!
Players to play for Stuttgart this season included Cacau, Sami Khedira, and top scorer Mario Gomez, who scored 28 goals in all competitions (with 19 coming in the league). Thomas Hitzlsperger scored 7 times across 32 appearances this season, and 20 times across a mammoth 5 years career with the German side.
Overall, shirt itself is in good condition, but the condition of the nameset is clear to see. Pretty faded, although still with life to it, and a couple faint marks just below it too. Reflected in price. Size XL.
